What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments:

When visitors come to visit and leave a comment, we collect that data which is shown in the comment forms and we also collect the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.An anonymous thread can be created from one’s email address which could be provided by the Gravatar if anyone is using it. After getting permission to comment, one’s profile picture is visible to the public in the context of one’s comment. Visitor’s comments can be seen through an automatic spam detection service. When in our site visitors leave comments we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymous string created from one’s email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if someone is using it. After approval of the comment, one’s profile picture is visible to the public in the context of one’s comment. Visitor comments may be checked through automated spam detection services.

Media:

If anyone upload images to the website, one should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If one leaves a comment on our site one may opt-in to saving name, email address and website in cookies. For convenience one should not have to fill in the details again and again when one leaves another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain the data:

If anyone leaves a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights we have over the data:

If someone has left a comment, or any data that one has provided to us . It automatically stores it in our system. This does not mean we are obliged to keep data for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
